Nurture Your Emotional Health

Online Counseling in Missouri

Online therapy can be the fit for you whether your life demands it or you just want it.

You’ve been thinking about therapy for a while now. You’re ready for your daily life to see some improvement, and you’re definitely ready for your internal world to feel less heavy, less chaotic, less suffocating.

You feel ready to talk to someone, but when it comes to heading into an office for sessions, you find you’re not making the commitment to get started.

Maybe that’s because the commute is not something that fits into                                                                                                  your busy life; you have time for therapy but the additional time                                                                                                    for the commute is harder to come by. Maybe the comfort of                                                                                                            your own home while you’re struggling with severe depression                                                                                                      or significant anxiety seems safer to you. Maybe you live in a part                                                                                                  of Missouri where you haven’t found a local therapist that seems                                                                                                   like a good fit for you.

Regardless of rhyme or reason, online therapy is                                                                           available to you and FOR you.

Video therapy (also called telehealth) can work for many people and for many of the reasons people seek out the counseling relationship. It’s understandable if you want to use that option but aren’t quite sure about the results: does online counseling actually help? Does virtual therapy feel real? Can telehealth allow a counseling relationship to be built?

Does Video Therapy Actually Work?

I’m here to deliver this news: online counseling can be just as effective as in-person therapy. A client-counselor relationship can be established (and very positively and robustly!) through online counseling. It can feel as natural as a FaceTime or Skype call.  And the results are very possible.

Besides fewer barriers to getting to an office session, online therapy has a few other perks.

It offers the comfort of your own home. It removes the commute, which has the potential for stress about traffic (planned or not) and parking. Sometimes,  these factors even lend to more productive sessions: people are ready to dig in when they start and have fewer barriers to doing just that.

Online Counseling  is Safe, Secure and Private

All online sessions are provided through a secure, HIPAA-compliant software platform. A click on a link and you arrive in the session, and we get started at our scheduled time! All you need is an internet connection, and I also recommend a pair of headphones, for privacy and for enhanced audio.

I offer the same availability to online therapy clients as I do in-person counseling clients:

We can find various times throughout the day and evening to have video therapy sessions. This allows flexible and convenient options on your end, further reducing the hassle of busy calendars making it feel like you are “squeezing in” therapy.
