The process of working towards positive change can be overwhelming and difficult. When you’re already not feeling your best, it can be so hard to even find where to start. Is it a change in routine? Is it more sleep? Is it finding new friends or a new job? The questions about how to feel better just keep coming but you're so ready for answers.
When we work together, my goal is to start with a space that feels safe…comfortable…open. From there, we can start working on providing tools for lasting change. We will find solutions….and hope…and get you to that place of feeling better. We can start finding those answers together.
This work looks a few different ways but always includes finding the strengths you already have and talking about how to use those to impact your life. We will explore your feelings, ease your anxiety, and decrease depression. We will look at how to remove barriers and obstacles that are getting in the way of living the life you want to live. And as those barriers decrease, you can find ways to reconnect with the people in your life, including yourself.
I am passionate and experienced in working with women and families throughout the journey of pregnancy and parenthood, including women struggling with perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. What is expected to be a happy time for pregnant women and new mothers can often be disrupted by mood swings, anxiety, scary thoughts, sadness and feelings of hopelessness. You do not have to face this alone, you are not to blame, and with proper help you can feel better!
I am also skilled in assisting individuals dealing with relationship issues, life transitions, divorce, medical issues (you, your child or a family member), grief and loss, and those struggling with anxiety or depression. Life can be difficult. The journey can often feel long and almost impossible at times. I believe it is my role to ensure you feel supported and heard, and to hold space for you during difficult times. We will partner together to work through the challenges you are facing and help you feel more in control of your emotions and life.
As a licensed clinical social worker, it would be my honor to walk alongside you throughout your therapeutic process. You will feel unconditional acceptance and understanding as we work together to build upon your strengths, set treatment goals and create an approach that will result in long lasting positive change. When necessary, I am willing to work collaboratively with your care team, psychiatrist, PCP, or OBGYN to help you reach your goals.
I can offer sessions in-person, virtually, and weather-permitting in a park setting.
