Hi, I’m Molly! I’m a Counseling Intern at Marble Wellness.
My Education and Professional Background
I earned my bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Strategic Communications from the University of Missouri in 2011, and I’m currently pursuing my master’s degree in Counseling, Clinical Mental Health at Truman State University.
Before pursuing counseling, I spent more than 15 years in brand strategy and qualitative research across the consumer and healthcare industries, partnering with people from a wide range of backgrounds to understand how they think, feel, make decisions, and navigate change. Much of that work centered on in-depth interviewing and active listening—creating space for people to share their honest, personal experiences without judgment. Looking back, I can see it was preparing me for this work all along.
My practicum experience includes working with adolescents navigating mental health diagnoses, identity development, and life transitions, as well as women navigating divorce and rebuilding a sense of self and stability.
How I Like to Work in Therapy
I’m especially drawn to working with children and adolescents navigating anxiety, emotional awareness, coping skills, self-esteem, and life transitions. I believe learning emotional awareness and healthy coping skills early can shape stronger patterns for life. I don’t see counseling kids as “mini adult therapy”—children process, communicate, and express themselves differently than adults do, so I meet them where they are developmentally through creativity, play, movement, and activities that feel natural to them.
I’m also passionate about working with women navigating stress, overwhelm, identity, relationships, parenting, divorce, and other life transitions. As a mom myself, I understand the mental load and pressure so many women carry, and I love helping women reconnect with themselves and feel more grounded and supported.
One of my favorite parts of the therapy process is helping clients build self-awareness and start connecting dots they may not have seen before—and watching them begin to trust themselves more along the way.
If you’re ready to take the next step, I’d be honored to walk alongside you and help you build the tools and confidence you need to move forward.
What I Enjoy Most About Therapy
As a therapist, I truly most enjoy witnessing growth and change—seeing clients gain insight, build confidence, and develop stronger, healthier relationships with themselves and others. The therapeutic relationship is especially meaningful to me because it provides a safe, supportive space where clients can explore their emotions, challenges, and goals without judgment. Being a therapist is incredibly fulfilling because I have the privilege of walking alongside people in their most vulnerable moments, helping them navigate life’s complexities, and empowering them to create lasting, positive change.
Advanced or Relevant Training
- ACA Certificate in Counseling Interventions and Evidence-Based Treatment for Specific Issues with Children and Youth
- Ongoing play therapy training, including UMSL Play Therapy Conference 2024
Fun Fact
Outside of the office, I’m a mom of two kids and two four-legged children (I’m a big dog and animal lover in general!). You’ll usually find me lost in a feel-good fiction book, leading arts and crafts projects as a Girl Scout troop leader, or planning our next family trip. On my bucket list: a trip to Italy!
