Margaret Clarke, LMSW
Therapist in St. Louis, MO
Hi, I’m Margaret! I’m a therapist at Marble Wellness.
My education and professional background:
I earned my Bachelor’s in English and my Bachelor’s in Fine Arts from Webster University and University of Missouri, respectively. I received my Master of Social Work from Saint Louis University in 2019.
I've been fortunate to work in diverse environments, including a college campus and a community art studio, with clients from different backgrounds and identities. In these environments I utilized empowerment theory and art therapy with each client to cultivate self-determination.
I have extensive experience providing counseling services for pregnant women in the St. Louis area using strength-based and solution-focused approaches as well as cognitive-behavioral techniques and motivational interviewing. I organized and led goal-based educational and support groups to improve clients' level of parental functioning.

How I like to work in therapy:
As a curious person who spends time exploring my inner self, I enjoy and value being able to be a supportive person for those also exploring their past, their identities, or their future in relation to their present lives through various approaches like psychodynamics.
It is important to me that my professional experiences be inclusive and that I create a therapeutic, collaborative relationship with my clients that feels organic and genuine. I love working with moms, especially new moms, LGBTQ+ communities, and young adults discovering or rediscovering their own strengths.
I specialize in the whole spectrum of maternal mental health, as well as anxiety, depression, and life transitions. I feel driven to help mothers deal with life issues proactively and effectively. In our work together, I partner with you on the reality of pregnancy and postpartum; strategize effective parenting; and most importantly, regain or rebuild your identity and sense of self. Together, we can help you build the life you want.

Infant loss and bereavement
-
