Hi, I’m Gail! I’m a therapist at Marble Wellness.

My education and professional background:

My undergraduate degree is in psychology from William Jewell College. I received a Master of Arts in Counseling from Webster University.

I worked in educational settings for many years, including for the Special School District, a preschool, and a public school district. After receiving my counseling degree, I moved into non-profit work, and my focus included doing intakes, assessing client needs, therapy sessions, and supervising. After 20 years with Epworth Children & Family Services, I joined Marble Wellness in 2021.

Clinical Specialties:

  • Anxiety and depression

  • Maternal mental health

  • Counseling for teens

  • Therapy for Men

  • Love & Logic (Parenting Support/Approach)

  • Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)

How I like to work in therapy:

In therapy, we will talk through *your* story. We will give space and air to the things that you haven’t said out loud before or that haven’t had a chance to be explored to the depth you want. We will identify your stuck points but more importantly, we will find ways to climb over, walk around, or barrel right through those challenges.

I often do this with clients by building new thought processes. A lot of times we will talk about how to use relationships in your life—old ones or new ones!—as places to find support and rejuvenation. We will help you find the strengths you already have to help you in the face of stress, anxiety, depression, interpersonal conflict, and unwelcome life transitions. We can build new habits and routines that move you toward the goals you have for your life.

On the other side of our work together, you will feel more capable in the face of overwhelm. You will be able to experience sadness or nervousness without getting stuck in the quicksand of those emotions. You will know yourself better, and will be able to use that knowledge to start to thrive again. To enjoy not just the day-to-day but also to participate in the big moments again.

Fun fact:

I love reading books by Stephen King!
