You’ve been feeling at your wit’s end. You’re running into issues in relationships---with friends, with family, with coworkers. You feel cranky and tired one day, anxious and wound up another, and just “blah” on others. You’ve given it the ole college try----a little meditating; herbal tea some nights; an adult coloring book; hitting the pavement (in your running shoes). Maybe those things have given you some relief, but nothing has lasted. Nothing has brought you the internal change you’re SO ready to have.
Hi, I’m Gail Sweet and I’d love to partner with you to get you that change you’re seeking!
The therapy process can be daunting at first; I get it! Once you get started though, it can turn into a part of the week you look forward to. A time of the week you realize you start to feel okay with sharing; feel okay with talking about the hard stuff you usually like to keep to yourself; feel okay letting someone see the sides of you that you usually exhaust yourself to keep hidden. In therapy, we will talk through *your* story. We will give space and air to the things that you haven’t said out loud before or that haven’t had a chance to be explored to the depth you want. We will identify your stuck points but more importantly, we will find ways to climb over, walk around, or barrel right through those challenges.
I often do this with clients by building new thought processes. A lot of times we will talk about how to use relationships in your life—old ones or new ones!—as places to find support and rejuvenation. We will help you find the strengths you already have (spoiler alert: they are there, even if you’re having trouble identifying them right now) to help you in the face of: stress; anxiety; depression; interpersonal conflict; unwelcome life transitions. We can build new habits and routines that move you toward the goals you have for your life.
We will do this through a variety of skills and expertise I’ll bring to the counseling room, from my 20+ years of experience. I have worked with kids, teens, parents, young adults, older adults, family units….I’ve partnered with so many people, with so many different presenting concerns, and from so many different walks of life. And in these years of work I have found: your journey is unique but so is your ability to get through it.
On the other side of our work together, you will feel more capable in the face of overwhelm. You will be able to experience sadness or nervousness without getting stuck in quicksand of those emotions. You will know yourself better, and will be able to use that knowledge to start to thrive again. To enjoy not just the day-to-day but also to participate in the big moments again.
I am so excited to get started. Can’t wait to see you soon!
