Erendira García Guzman, MA, PLMFT

Therapist in St. Louis, MO

Clinical Specialties:

Hi, I’m Erendira! I’m a Master’s-level therapist at Marble Wellness.

My Education and Professional Background

I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Universidad Intercontinental in Mexico City and completed a four-year Master’s degree in Individual Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy, specializing in Adolescents and Adults, at the Instituto de Investigación en Psicología Clínica y Social in Mexico. I later earned a second Master’s degree in Couple and Family Therapy from Saint Louis University (SLU).

I have over 16 years of clinical experience, in both Mexico and the United States. II began in private practice in Mexico, presenting at conferences and leading workshops on parenting and mental health, and later completed advanced training in art-based therapeutic interventions. Alongside my graduate studies at SLU, I worked as a bilingual therapist providing individual and relational therapy and leading art-based workshops focused on grief and emotional processing. I also completed a fellowship with the Neurodiversity Clinic at Saint Louis University’s Couple and Family Therapy Clinic.

How I Like to Work in Therapy

I especially enjoy working with couples and adults navigating relationships, identity, self-worth, cultural differences, and life transitions. Couples work is particularly meaningful to me—I help partners understand the patterns they’ve become stuck in, what each of them needs, and how they can negotiate their differences without losing themselves or their connection to each other.

My style is warm, curious, and collaborative. My approach combines psychoanalytic and psychodynamic therapy, couple and family therapy, multicultural perspectives, and art-based interventions. I enjoy helping clients explore questions such as: Why do I keep repeating the same patterns? Who am I outside of what others expect from me? What do I really want? Some of my favorite moments in therapy are when something finally clicks and a client begins to see themselves, their relationships, or their story from a new perspective.

I provide therapy in English and Spanish and welcome clients of all backgrounds and neurotypes into a space that’s affirming and judgment-free. To me, multicultural therapy goes beyond language—culture, family, gender, migration, traditions, and values all shape how we experience ourselves and our relationships, and I want therapy to make room for those parts of your story.

On my bucket list: watching the sunrise in the Swiss Alps.
